Quick answer: BigSpy is an ad spy tool whose homepage lists 11 ad channels plus 40 e-commerce sites like Shopify and Amazon. Its free tier gives 5 searches and 20 downloads daily, on Facebook only. Each ad names one advertiser page, without joining it to the owner's network of domains, pixels and pages.

What is BigSpy

BigSpy sells itself on wide coverage across ad networks. Its homepage lists 11 ad channels and names Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google, YouTube and AppLovin among them, with AppLovin announced as a new channel. The same page claims 40 e-commerce sites, with Shopify and Amazon as examples. The headline database numbers are "over 1 billion pieces of ad intelligence" and "nearly 10 million advertisers." The page adds "80+ countries" and "26 languages."

It's a pitch built on breadth, and the four paid tiers run $69–$499/month. Where a BigSpy search sits inside a full competitor check is covered in how to spy on competitor ads.

BigSpy ads: what platforms and scale the site claims

The headline numbers line up: "over 1 billion" matches the "1000M Creatives" counter at the top of the homepage. The channel count has moved, though. My account's Networks filter showed ten networks, and the homepage now lists 11, with AppLovin as the newest.

Beyond ad search, BigSpy ships a free Chrome extension. The Chrome Web Store listing, "Bigspy: Save FB and TikTok Ads," describes it as a one-click way to save ads into a BigSpy collection. It works on the Meta Ad Library, TikTok's organic feed, TikTok Creative Center and the TikTok Ad Library.

BigSpy also markets AI features on top of the ad database: creative scoring, trend picks and AI-written ad-copy variations. My account confirmed one piece directly. Every ad's detail view has an "AI-assisted Features" section with a working "AI Prompt" tool and its own quota. The Plans screen lists 100 AI Prompts a day on Starter. I couldn't find limits or tiers for the rest of the layer anywhere I could load. So treat the wider "BigSpy AI" claim as real but only partly documented. BigSpy doesn't price it as a separate product.

I found no public API documented on the pages I checked. Facebook is the anchor platform in practice: the free tier is Facebook-only, so that's where a free account starts.

The Ad Library search screen in my account shows the network list itself: Facebook, Instagram, AdMob, YouTube, TikTok, X (Twitter), Pinterest, Yahoo, Unity Ads and Pangle. That's ten; AppLovin arrived on the homepage later. Next to it sit Website Type filters for the e-commerce side: Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Magento, BigCommerce, OpenCart, PrestaShop, Wix and more. The default search window is the last 90 days. With the eCom industry filter on, it reported "Found 396M related ads." Default deduplication cut that to 189M, and strict deduplication to 59M. Strict mode keeps roughly one ad in seven.

BigSpy free plan: what you get without paying

A new account gets 5 searches and 20 creative downloads per day, for Facebook ads only. BigSpy's own FAQ says the same. That's a daily cap that resets every day, and the free plan has no end date. There's no free trial with a countdown. The closest thing is the paid one. The other networks and any bulk research need a paid plan.

That FAQ mentions a $1 Pro trial lasting three days, and some third-party listings put a Pro plan at around $99/month. That name doesn't appear on my account's Plans screen (see the next section). BigSpy runs four real tiers, and "Pro" isn't one of them.

In my account, the free tier shows as "Current subscription: Free," with Searches Remaining and Downloads Remaining counters that reset daily.

A single ad's detail view shows limits the account panel doesn't spell out. The advertiser's page name stays partly masked ("Carre***Dizier"), even inside the full creative detail. The destination domain shows in full ("www.carrefour.fr"), while the card grid shows only "www.***r.fr." The Download button is grayed out and does nothing on the free tier. "Learn More," the outbound link to the actual ad, stays clickable.

The "AI Prompt" tool there showed "Generate Prompt (0/3)" on my account. It turns the ad's creative into a text prompt for outside AI image tools.

What my check doesn't show: my account stayed on the Free subscription the whole time. So I can't tell you what the ad view unlocks on a paid tier.

BigSpy tool pricing: the real ladder, from a live account

The homepage mentioned two named tiers in passing: "Growth" at $159/month and "Ultimate" up to $499/month. The pricing page at bigspy.com/pricing didn't load a plan table for me in three public-side attempts. Third-party review and coupon sites filled the gap with an entry "Basic" at around $9/month, "Pro" at around $99 and "Group" at around $249.

My account's own Plans screen settled it. BigSpy runs four paid tiers, and neither the $9/$99/$249 figures nor the "Basic/Pro/Group" names appear on it.

Plan Price/month Seats Platforms Creative downloads
Starter $69 1 Facebook, Instagram, AppLovin (limited-time access) (3) 50/day
Growth (Recommended) $159 1 Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, Pangle, Google Ads, YouTube, AppLovin (8) 300/day
Scale $399 5 (1 owner, 4 members) same 8 platforms as Growth 300/day per seat
Ultimate $499 1 11 networks, adding Pinterest, Yahoo, Unity Ads 3,000/day
BigSpy Pricing Plans screen inside a live account: Starter $69/mo with Facebook, Instagram and AppLovin (limited-time access), Growth $159/mo and Scale $399/mo with eight networks, Ultimate $499/mo with eleven

That confirms the homepage's $159 Growth and $499 Ultimate. When I reopened the screen, AppLovin had been added to every tier, so the network counts went from 2, 7, 7 and 10 to 3, 8, 8 and 11. The third-party $9/$99/$249 prices don't match any tier. They look like an older pricing setup. So BigSpy is free to start, $69/month for the cheapest paid seat, and $499/month for 11 networks and 3,000 daily downloads.

Where BigSpy's masked pages stop and an owner profile starts

BigSpy is about breadth: what ads are running, across as many networks as it can reach. Spytrend is an ad intelligence platform for Facebook and TikTok advertising: an archive of ads going back to 2018, AI-classified into 33 business categories, with every advertiser assembled into a single card — all ads, pages, domains and countries in one place. Spytrend covers Facebook and TikTok, so fewer networks, and it uses a different unit of analysis: the operator behind the ads and pages. A search there shows who's running a niche. A BigSpy search shows which pages happen to carry a matching ad. The guide to competitive ad intelligence shows how that changes a competitor check.

Category taxonomy. BigSpy filters by three broad industries, eCom, Game and Tool, plus advertiser name, keyword, ID, URL, country and language. Spytrend's AI sorts ads into 33 business categories and 342 subcategories. I filtered Spytrend's Ads section to Ecommerce and Retail. It returned 67,868,044 results on Meta and 13,941,692 on TikTok: a whole industry in one filter.

One masked page instead of an owner profile. BigSpy's search screen has an Advertisers view toggle, but my screenshots don't cover that view. What they do show is an ad card and its detail naming one advertiser page, partly starred out on the free tier ("Carre***Dizier"). Nothing on those screens links that page to another domain, pixel or Page ID the same operator might run. Spytrend starts from the other end. It pre-builds a webmaster profile by matching the pixel ID, domains and Page IDs an operator's ads share. Every ad, page, domain and landing page tied to that match then lands in one card, with a country breakdown.

Here's an example I pulled from Webmasters with the Ecommerce and Retail filter on. The network behind Dleplyna ties together 6 domains (1 active) and 103 Facebook Page IDs (4 active) under one owner. The profile counts 89,585 ads: 6 still active and 89,579 stopped. So this network has mostly wound down. Two domains carry the bulk of it: dlumyno.com with 45,004 ads and drikryna.com with 40,862. The domain the owner is named after, dleplyna.com, trails at 3,667.

A page-level view, starred or not, doesn't surface six domains and over a hundred Page IDs. The Webmasters walkthrough explains how the profile is built.

Spytrend Webmasters details panel for Dleplyna: 89,585 total ads, 6 active, 89,579 stopped, 6 domains (1 active) including dlumyno.com with 45,004 ads and drikryna.com with 40,862, and 103 Facebook Page IDs (4 active)

What stays rationed. On BigSpy's free tier you can view an ad but not save it, the AI Prompt quota is 0/3, and the Ad Library defaults to a 90-day window. On Spytrend, the free Starter shows only ads older than three months, and the paid tiers add live data. Spytrend's pricing page lists what each plan includes. BigSpy's own pricing page didn't show me a usable plan table, so check it directly.

Who BigSpy is for and who it isn't

If your research goes beyond Facebook and TikTok, into Google Ads, YouTube, Pinterest, X or app networks like Unity, Pangle and AppLovin, BigSpy covers that ground. Its free plan also lets you try the Facebook side before paying.

It's harder to work with if you need more than three industry buckets, or the whole network behind an advertiser, with every page, domain and country linked to a single operator. On the free tier you also can't keep a creative you find, since the Download button stays grayed out. And the $69–$499/month ladder may be more than you want to pay just to get past 5 searches a day and a 90-day search window.

BigSpy alternatives

For broad platform coverage, BigSpy itself is hard to replace: it lists 11 ad channels, with Google Ads, YouTube, Pinterest and app networks alongside Facebook and TikTok. This ad-spy tool comparison puts it next to other options. If you need the advertiser's whole network mapped out, or more than three industry categories, the section above covers that.

You can test this yourself. BigSpy's free plan and Spytrend's free Starter tier both cost nothing. Pick one advertiser from your niche and look it up in both. Then compare what BigSpy shows about it with the Webmasters profile.

FAQ

What is BigSpy?

BigSpy is a wide-coverage ad spy tool. Its homepage lists 11 ad channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google, YouTube and AppLovin, plus 40 e-commerce sites. My account's Networks filter showed ten. There's also a free Chrome extension that saves ads from the Meta and TikTok ad libraries in one click.

BigSpy free plan: how far does it go?

BigSpy is free to use, with real limits. The free plan gives 5 searches and 20 downloads a day, for Facebook ads only, and it doesn't expire. My account showed "Current subscription: Free" with Searches Remaining and Downloads Remaining counters. Other networks and higher volume need a paid plan.

BigSpy pricing: how much does each plan cost?

BigSpy pricing starts at zero. Then come four paid tiers, which I confirmed on my account's Plans screen. Starter costs $69/month (Facebook, Instagram and, for a limited time, AppLovin), Growth $159/month (8 platforms, 300 downloads/day), Scale $399/month (same 8 platforms, 5 seats) and Ultimate $499/month (11 networks, 3,000 downloads/day). Third-party sites listing $9/$99/$249 tiers don't match any current plan.

How to use BigSpy: where do you start?

To use BigSpy, sign in, then search by advertiser name, keyword, ID or URL. Filter by country, language or one of three industries: eCom, Game or Tool. You can also install the free Chrome extension. It saves ads from the Meta and TikTok ad libraries straight into a BigSpy collection as you browse.

Is BigSpy legit, or just a landing page?

BigSpy is a working product. It has a public site, a live Chrome Web Store extension and a stated 1B+ creatives from nearly 10 million advertisers. Its four paid tiers, $69–$499/month, check out on a live Plans screen. On Trustpilot it holds 2.1 out of 5 from 25 reviews, a small sample.

BigSpy vs Spytrend: what's the difference?

The BigSpy vs Spytrend difference starts with scope. BigSpy searches many ad networks and forty e-commerce sites. Each ad names one advertiser page, and it offers three industry buckets: eCom, Game and Tool. Spytrend covers fewer networks: Facebook and TikTok. It assembles each owner's whole network of domains, pixels and pages in advance, AI-tagged across 33 business categories, with live data on every paid tier.
