To analyze an Instagram Reel, paste its link and press Analyze. You get the Reel’s views, likes, comments and engagement rate, the creator’s followers, and how the Reel did against the creator’s usual views: a multiple such as 6.1× and a verdict, viral, above usual or below usual.
Paste one link and get one card: the numbers of that Reel and a verdict on how it did for that account.
What you get
A Reel’s numbers and how it did against its creator’s usual views
Views on their own say little: a big account gets big numbers on an ordinary day. So next to the Reel’s own numbers the card puts its views against the creator’s usual views and says whether the Reel went viral, did above usual or did below usual.
What each number on the card means:
- The multiple (×). The Reel’s views divided by the creator’s median views over the 30 days before the Reel. 6.1× means the Reel got 6.1 times what that account usually gets; anything over 100 shows as 100×+.
- The verdict. Viral at 2× or more, above usual from 1×, below usual under 1×.
- Views. How many times the Reel was played when we last saw it.
- Likes and comments. Counted on the Reel when we last saw it. When a creator hides like counts, the card leaves likes out.
- Engagement rate. Likes plus comments, divided by views. It is left out when likes are hidden.
- Usual views. The median views of the creator’s other Reels over the 30 days before this one.
- Followers. The size of the creator’s account, from their profile.
A fair comparison needs at least five other Reels from the creator in those 30 days. With fewer, the card shows the Reel’s numbers without a multiple or a verdict.
How to use it
How to analyze a Reel in three steps
Copy the Reel link
In the Instagram app, open the Reel and use Copy link in its share menu. On a computer, copy the link from the browser’s address bar.
Press Analyze
Paste the link and press Analyze. Your first lookup is free, no sign-up; after that, your email unlocks one more.
Read the verdict
You get the multiple of the creator’s usual views with a verdict, then the views, likes, comments and engagement rate.
Read the multiple before the views: a 10× Reel from a small account often shows a format that travels better than a big account’s usual hit.
How the verdict works
Views against the creator’s own usual, not against everyone
We find the Reel by its link and take its views. Then we take the creator’s other Reels from the 30 days before it and find their median views: that is the creator’s usual. The multiple is the Reel’s views divided by that median.
The verdict follows the multiple: 2× or more is viral, from 1× is above usual, under 1× is below usual. With fewer than five other Reels in those 30 days there is no fair usual, so the card shows no multiple and no verdict.
Numbers are from Spytrend’s Instagram dataset.
Limits
Free version limits
Your first lookup is free, no sign-up. Leave your email for one more, then create a free Spytrend account: it opens Content AI video search with a daily limit, and Content AI plans add profile and video breakdowns, tracking and more searches.
One lookup reads one Reel from our dataset, and the result stays on this page. A Reel we have not collected yet gets no numbers.
Why creators use it
Tell a breakout from an ordinary day — by the creator’s own usual views
A million views is an ordinary day for a big account and a breakout for a small one. The multiple tells you which, so you know whether a Reel did something its audience wanted more of.
Check your own Reels to see which formats beat your usual views, and post more of those. Check a Reel that is taking off in your niche before you borrow its hook, format or sound.
An SMM manager or a video studio does the same for every account they run, and a creative strategist reads a rival creator’s best Reels before writing the brief.

Reels taking off in your niche, with their hooks and sounds
This tool reads one Reel at a time.
Spytrend’s Content AI finds the Reels and Shorts that beat their creator’s usual views in your niche, breaks down their hooks and sounds, and tracks the accounts you follow.
What one Reel can’t tell you
- Which Reels are worth studying. Video Search shows how far each Reel or Short beat its creator’s usual views, filtered by country, language and date, so you study the outliers in your niche, not whatever the feed served you.
- What drives an account. Profile Analysis reads the videos of an Instagram, TikTok or YouTube account and finds what drives its views, saves and shares.
How to start
Create a free account and search your niche by words or a #hashtag. The free account opens video search with a daily limit; Content AI plans add profile and video breakdowns, tracking and more searches.
