CLI clients (Claude Code, Codex): after adding the server, restart the client — a running session won't load it — then run /mcp to sign in.

ChatGPTBusiness / Enterprise / Edu

Custom MCP connectors need a ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace with Developer mode allowed by an admin. On personal Free/Plus, or before the admin enables it, the option simply does not appear — that is a ChatGPT plan limit, not a Spytrend error. No access? Claude and Cursor work on any plan.

  1. Admin first: Workspace Settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data (or Workspace Settings → Apps → Create) — allow custom apps. Then each member: Settings → Security and login → enable Developer mode.
  2. Settings → Plugins (or chatgpt.com/plugins) → + → paste the endpoint URL → Create and authorize.
  3. If new tools are missing later, open this plugin in Settings → Plugins and click Refresh. The current Spytrend catalog has 20 tools.

How tokens are counted

1 token = 1 delivered result: an ad or webmaster in search, a trends row, an entity card. A default search page (20 results) costs 20 tokens — you pay only for results actually returned. Creative media is priced separately: 1 token per ad, 10 per unique creative. Navigation is free: the hub catalog, similarity facets, favourites lists and 'how many tokens left?' (get_usage).

Trial — 500 tokens, free forever. 1 token = 1 result (an ad or webmaster in search, a trends row, a card); creative media costs more: 1 per ad, 10 per creative. About 25 default searches to try things out.

Pro

Pro — 40,000 tokens/month. 1 token = 1 result: an ad or webmaster in search, a trends row, an entity card. Creative media costs more: 1 per ad, 10 per unique creative. Enterprise: personal limit — contact support.

Security

  • Always connect to the official endpoint mcp.spytrend.com/mcp — never a third-party proxy.
  • OAuth 2.1 with an explicit consent screen on every connection. Your password is never sent to the AI client.
  • The connector grants the agent the same access as your account and plan — nothing more.
