To work out a creator’s engagement rate, pick the platform, enter the username and press Calculate. You get the engagement rate as a percentage, a label saying whether it is high, average or low for an account of its size, the follower or subscriber count, and the median likes, comments and views per post.
This page reads one account from the creators we have collected. You do not type in likes or followers; we already have them.
[ What you get ]
The engagement rate as a percentage, compared with accounts of the same size
You get one number and one comparison. A rate on its own says little: large accounts engage less than small ones, so the page also tells you where the rate sits among accounts with a similar follower count.
What comes out:
- The engagement rate. On Instagram, the median likes plus comments per post divided by followers. On YouTube, the median likes per view across recent videos.
- How it compares. A label: high, average or low for accounts of the same platform and a similar size.
- Followers or subscribers. The size of the audience, which decides the accounts the rate is compared with.
- Median likes and comments. The middle count per recent post or video. YouTube gets no comments line: our video data has no comment counts.
- Median views. The middle view count across recent YouTube videos or Instagram reels. Instagram photos have no view count, so an account that posts mostly photos gets no views line.
We use the median, not the average, so one viral post does not inflate the rate, the likes or the views.

Read the rate
You get the engagement rate, a label comparing it with accounts of the same size, the follower or subscriber count, and the median likes, comments and views.
Want the full picture of an account? The Instagram and YouTube account checks turn the same numbers into a quality score out of 100.
[ How the rate works ]
One formula per platform, the median of recent posts
Instagram: for each recent post, likes plus comments divided by followers; the rate is the median of those numbers. YouTube: for each recent video, likes divided by views; the rate is the median. We do not have comment counts for YouTube videos, so they are left out rather than guessed.
The comparison puts the rate next to accounts of the same platform with a similar follower count: the bottom quarter reads low for its size, the top quarter high, the middle half average.

Your first lookup is free, no sign-up. Leave your email for one more, then create a free Spytrend account: it opens the full ad library, and paid plans add fresh ads and every filter.
One lookup reads one account from our database, and the result stays on this page. An account we have not collected yet gets no rate.
[ Why marketers use it ]
Price a creator on attention — not on a follower count
Two creators with the same follower count can reach very different numbers of people. The engagement rate shows how much of the audience actually reacts, which is what a sponsored post buys.
A brand manager checks the rate before agreeing a fee, and asks for a lower one when it sits below accounts of the same size.

The ads brands actually run, beside the creators they pay
This tool checks one account at a time.
Spytrend is an ad intelligence platform for Facebook and TikTok advertising: a full five-year archive of ads, AI-classified into 33 business categories, with every advertiser assembled into a single card — all ads, pages, domains and countries in one place.
Two jobs where one rate is not enough
- Choosing what the creator should make. The ads that brands in the niche keep running show which hooks and formats work there, so the brief starts from evidence instead of taste.
- Seeing who else pays for the same audience. An advertiser’s card lists every ad, page and country, so you can see how hard competitors push the audience you are about to buy.
How to start
Create a free account and search a brand in the creator’s niche. The free account opens the ad library; paid plans add fresh ads and every filter.
