Audio to text: write out what was said

Upload an MP3, M4A, WAV or other audio file and get every spoken word back as text and SRT subtitles. Your first run is free, no sign-up.

To transcribe audio to text, upload the recording above and press Convert to text. In a minute or two you get every spoken word in order, as text to copy and as an SRT subtitle file with timestamps. The transcript stays in the language that was spoken.

[ What you get ]

Transcribe audio to text in one pass

You get the full text of a recording, word for word, and your file is left as it is. It is a transcript, not a summary and not a translation. Typing it up by hand means a full listen with headphones on; here it takes one upload and a few minutes.

What comes out:

  • The transcript as plain text. The words in order, ready to read, quote or paste.
  • Subtitles with timestamps. The same words as timed cues in an SRT file, for a video's subtitle track or for checking the text against the audio.
  • A link to the result. It opens the finished transcript, so you send the link instead of re-uploading the file.

Two honest limits. Accuracy follows the recording: one clear speaker in a quiet room comes back close to word for word, while crosstalk, music under the voice and phone audio cost words. And names, brands and figures are worth checking against the audio before you quote them.

[ How to use it ]

Audio to text converter: three steps

  1. Add the file

Drag the audio file onto the upload box, or press Choose a file.

  2. Transcribe

Press Convert to text. A short clip is back in under a minute; a file at the length cap takes a few minutes.

  3. Read, copy, download

The transcript appears on the page. Copy it, press Download TXT or Download SRT, or copy the link to send it on.

It works on any recording, published or not: a call, a meeting export, a podcast file, the audio pulled out of a video. For a video file or a YouTube link, use Video to text below.

[ Limits ]

Free version limits

Your first run is free, no sign-up. Leave your email for one more, then create a free account and pay only for what you use. Opening a result you already have doesn't use a run.

The length and file-size caps are shown next to the upload box. A longer file is refused before it starts, not cut off halfway. Your transcript stays at its own link for a while, so download what you want to keep.

Rights. You must own the recording or have permission to use it. The transcript is for your own use.

[ Why marketers use it ]

Audio to text that keeps every word — and the spoken offers ad search can't find

Media buyers use audio to text to read the offers competitors only say out loud. An ad library searches the words typed into an ad: the headline, the primary text, the description. A voice-over sits outside that index, so an ad whose whole pitch is spoken, under copy that says only "Link in bio", never turns up in a search.

Transcribed, the same ad reads in the time the clip runs: the hook, the price said out loud, the guarantee, the objection the first ten seconds answer. Doing that for a whole niche, one upload at a time, is a week of work.

On paid plans, any video ad in Spytrend can be transcribed in one click, so a competitor's spoken offers read as text with nothing to upload.

The words of every video ad in a market, with nothing to upload

Spytrend is an ad intelligence platform for Facebook and TikTok advertising: a full five-year archive of ads, AI-classified into 33 business categories, with every advertiser assembled into a single card — all ads, pages, domains and countries in one place. On paid plans, any video ad in it can be transcribed in one click.

Two jobs where the spoken offer is the whole problem

  • Reading a market before you spend. Before the first test budget, read the ads that have run longest in the target country: the offers, the prices said out loud, the objections answered. Forty creatives read in less time than three of them take to watch.
  • Building on a creative that already works. An ad that has run for months is the safest base for a new one. As text it gives you the script: the opening line, the order of the arguments, the promise. Write your version from that before the shoot.

What the transcript is attached to

Here a transcript is a file and a link. In Spytrend it stays on the ad, next to the launch date, days running, countries and how often the creative was re-uploaded. A voice-over re-uploaded three times is a script somebody paid for three times.

Read a market the way you just read one file

  • Pick the market. A brand, a domain, or a country and a business category.
  • Sort by run time and read down the list. Transcribe the ads at the top, one click each.
  • Pull the offers into one table. What each brand promises, at what price, against which objection. The promise that repeats across brands is the one the market already pays for.

Why a market, not a file

One recording is what one advertiser said once. A market also shows the ads that stopped, and those tell you which promises did not survive. A free ad library keeps no such history.

How to start

A free Spytrend account opens the ad library; paid plans add fresh ads and every filter. Search a brand or a domain you compete with and start from the video ads it has kept running longest.

FAQ

Search a brand. Read the voice-overs it keeps paying for.

Spytrend collects Facebook and TikTok video ads for you, with run time and countries beside each. On paid plans, any of them is one click from its transcript.
