To turn a voice recording into a transcript, upload the file above and press Get transcript. WhatsApp voice notes, Android recordings and iPhone memos go in as they are. You get the speech as plain text to copy, at a link you can pass on.

## Transcribe a voice recording

You get the speech from a voice memo or a chat note written out as plain text, in the language it was spoken. Listening in real time and typing it up yourself is the old way; here you add the file and wait a minute or two.

What comes out:

- **The spoken words as plain text.** In order, ready to copy into a note, a task or a reply.
- **A link that holds it.** Pass the text on without forwarding the audio.
- **The tool on your own site.** The embed code below adds this tool to your page.

Phone and messenger recordings are rarely MP3. A WhatsApp voice message is .ogg or .opus, an Android recorder gives .amr or .3gp, an iPhone memo is .m4a, and all of them go in as they are. Two honest limits: the result is plain text with no timestamps, and street noise, a moving car or two people talking at once will show in the text.

## Transcribe a voice memo: three steps

1. **Add the recording**
Drag it onto the upload box, or press Choose a file. Voice notes and phone memos go in as they are.
2. **Transcribe**
Press Get transcript. A one-minute note is back in seconds; a long one takes a few minutes.
3. **Read, copy, keep the link**
The speech comes back in the language it was spoken in. Press Copy text, or copy the link to come back to it.

A voice message becomes a file when you export it. Press and hold the message, tap Share or Forward, then save it to Files on iPhone or to Drive on Android. If the note is in your own WhatsApp chat and your language is supported, WhatsApp [transcribes it on the device](https://blog.whatsapp.com/introducing-voice-message-transcripts): Settings → Chats → Voice message transcripts, then long-press and Transcribe. Upload here when the recording came from somewhere else, when your language isn't offered, or when there is a stack of them to clear.

## Free version limits

Your first run is free, no sign-up. Leave your email for one more, then create a free account and pay only for what you use. Opening a result you already have doesn't use a run.

Voice message transcription here is sized for ordinary voice notes and most phone memos; the length and file-size caps are shown next to the upload box. A recording that is too long is refused before it starts, not cut short.

Your recording is uploaded to be transcribed, so this is not on-device transcription. The text stays at its own link for a while; copy what you want to keep.

You must own the recording or have permission to use it. The transcript is for your own use.

## Voice note transcripts that keep the terms said out loud — and the offers text search can't see

Affiliate and buying teams agree on terms in voice notes: a supplier's brief, a partner's payout structure, numbers said once and never written down. Transcribed, they become quotable and easy to find three months later, when someone disputes what was agreed.

The same gap exists in ad research. An ad library searches the text typed into an ad, not the words spoken in it, so a spoken offer is public and still invisible to search.

On paid plans, any video ad in Spytrend can be transcribed in one click, so an offer pitched to you in a voice note can be checked against what the market actually runs.

## Any video ad a brand runs, written out in one click

Spytrend is an ad intelligence platform for Facebook and TikTok advertising: a full five-year archive of ads, AI-classified into 33 business categories, with every advertiser assembled into a single card — all ads, pages, domains and countries in one place. On paid plans, any video ad in it can be transcribed in one click.

### Two jobs where speech is the whole problem

- **Checking a claim against what the market runs.** A partner saying an offer converts is one voice note. The ads that have run for months in that market are the evidence. With each script in front of you, you see whether the angle you were sold is the one that survived.
- **Briefing from the script, not the retelling.** When a partner describes a winning ad in a voice note, find that ad and read its script instead: the exact hook, the order of the arguments, the call to action. You brief your creative from the real thing, not from someone's memory of it.

### What the words are attached to

Here the transcript is a link you can send to anyone. In Spytrend the words stay on an ad, with when it launched, how long it has run and where. That turns a quote into evidence: a voice note is what someone told you; a script running since spring is what someone is paying for.

### Check a claim against the market, in three steps

- **Take the offer from the note.** The brand, the product and the country it was pitched for.
- **Search the brand or the domain.** Then sort its video ads by run time.
- **Read what survived.** If the offer is real, its ads have run for months and promise what you were told. If nothing is running, that is an answer too.

### Why a market, not a recording

One voice note tells you what one person said once. The market shows which promises lasted and which were dropped, with how long each ad ran and where. That history is what a free ad library does not give you.

### How to start

A free Spytrend account opens the ad library; paid plans add fresh ads and every filter. Search the brand or the domain from the voice note and see whether anyone is still running the offer.

## FAQ

- **How do I turn a voice recording into a transcript?**
Upload the file at the top of this page and press Get transcript. The text comes back on the same page, ready to copy or keep at its own link. The first run needs no sign-up.
- **Which formats can I upload?**
OPUS, OGG, AMR, M4A and 3GP: the formats messengers and phone recorders produce, uploaded as they are. The length and size caps are shown next to the upload box.
- **Can I transcribe a WhatsApp voice message?**
Yes, once it is a file: export the voice message and upload it here. WhatsApp can also transcribe voice messages on your phone, which keeps the audio there. Upload here when the note came from elsewhere, your language isn't offered, or you have a stack to clear.
- **How do I save a WhatsApp voice message as a file?**
Press and hold the message, tap Share or Forward, save it to Files on iPhone or to Drive on Android, then upload it here. Exported notes are usually .opus or .ogg. For a whole chat, export it with media attached.
- **How accurate is it on a voice message?**
Expect less than studio accuracy: voice messages are recorded on phone microphones in real places. A clearly spoken note in a quiet room comes back close to word for word; street noise and crosstalk cost words.
- **Which language does the transcript come back in?**
The one that was spoken; nothing is translated. To read a note in a language you don't speak, use Translate audio.
- **Can I download the transcript as SRT subtitles?**
No, this tool returns plain text. If the recording is .m4a or .ogg, the audio to text tool gives you an SRT file too. For video, use the video to text converter.
- **Can I transcribe the voice-over of a Facebook or TikTok ad?**
Yes, in Spytrend. On paid plans, any video ad in Spytrend can be transcribed in one click. You read the voice-over as text beside the ad's run time and countries, with no file to find.
