To estimate a creator’s earnings, pick YouTube videos, Shorts or TikTok, then enter monthly views and the revenue per 1,000 views from your analytics. You get an approximate monthly and yearly range, 20% either side: an estimate by the Spytrend model of the platform payout only. Brand deals, affiliate links, memberships, merch and other platforms are not included.
Pick the platform, enter your monthly views and the revenue per 1,000 views from your analytics. You get the platform payout as a range for a month and for a year.
What you get
A monthly and a yearly payout range from your views, with the formula behind it
It is an approximate estimate by the Spytrend model of the platform payout only, from YouTube videos, YouTube Shorts and TikTok views. It is not a creator’s whole income: brand deals and sponsorships, affiliate links, memberships and subscriptions, merch and payouts from other platforms are not in it.
What comes out:
- Estimated monthly payout. A range 20% either side of views ÷ 1,000 × your rate, in US dollars.
- Estimated yearly payout. The monthly range times twelve, at the same views.
- The formula, line by line. Views ÷ 1,000, the rate per 1,000 views and the middle of the monthly range.
Each platform opens with a starting rate from public data; for long YouTube videos, a niche fills in that niche’s rate. Replace it with the revenue per 1,000 views your own analytics show, and the range follows.
How to use it
Creator earnings calculator: three steps
Pick the platform
Choose YouTube videos, YouTube Shorts or TikTok. The rate field fills with a starting rate from public data; for YouTube videos, picking a niche fills in that niche’s rate.
Enter your monthly views
Use the views from your analytics for one month. For TikTok, count only qualified views of videos at least a minute long (Creator Rewards).
Replace the rate
Type the revenue per 1,000 views from your analytics; the page uses it as is.
The ranges update as you type. Use them to plan, not as a promise: platforms set and change their payouts.
How the estimate works
Monthly views times a rate per 1,000 views, as a range
The estimate is monthly views ÷ 1,000 × revenue per 1,000 views. 200,000 views at $2.30 per 1,000 is $460 a month; the page shows $368–$552, 20% either side, and $4,416–$6,624 for a year at the same views.
Platforms set their own payouts and change them, and not every view or every creator qualifies. Rates change with the audience’s country, the season and the niche, and your own analytics are the record. That is why the page shows a range and asks for your own rate.
Each platform opens with a starting rate from public data so the calculation can start: $2.30 for long YouTube videos, $0.07 for Shorts and $0.70 per 1,000 qualified views for TikTok. It is not your payout and not data about any creator: replace it with the figure from your analytics, often called RPM.
Starting revenue per 1,000 views, in US dollars
| Platform | Starting rate | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube videos | $2.30 | Median in the AIR Media-Tech study |
| YouTube Shorts | $0.07 | 3% of the long-video median |
| TikTok, qualified views | $0.70 | Middle of the range creators report |
Where the rates come from
Checked on 12 October 2026.
- Long YouTube videos and the niche rates: the median revenue per 1,000 views in the AIR Media-Tech study of YouTube Studio data, May 2025–May 2026. Shorts: 3% of that median, the low end of the 3–14% of the long-video rate the same study gives for Shorts. AIR Media-Tech: YouTube RPM study, May 2025–May 2026
- TikTok: TikTok publishes no rate; $0.70 is the middle of the $0.40–$1.00 per 1,000 qualified views creators most often report. Under TikTok’s Creator Rewards rules, qualified views are For You views over 5 seconds of original videos at least a minute long, from accounts that meet the program’s requirements. TikTok Support: Creator Rewards Program
- YouTube shares 55% of ad revenue with creators on long videos and 45% on Shorts. YouTube Blog: YouTube Partner Program, Explained
Niche rates
For long YouTube videos, a starting rate per niche
For long YouTube videos, picking a niche fills the rate field with that niche’s median from the same AIR Media-Tech study, from $0.33 for kids and teens to $10.22 for education and science; all niches together come to $2.30. Niches the study has too few channels in are left out.
Picking a niche only fills in the rate: nothing is multiplied behind it. Type your own rate and the page uses it as is; pick a niche after that and its rate replaces what you typed. Shorts and TikTok have no niche picker, because there is no per-niche source for them.
Median revenue per 1,000 views by niche, long YouTube videos
| Niche | Starting rate |
|---|---|
| All niches | $2.30 |
| Education and science | $10.22 |
| Lifestyle | $2.98 |
| Entertainment | $2.43 |
| Crafting and handmade | $2.39 |
| Gadgets and tech | $2.33 |
| Music | $2.28 |
| Gaming | $2.05 |
| Health and sport | $1.23 |
| Kids and teens | $0.33 |
Worked example
One channel at 200,000 views a month, a Shorts account and a TikTok account
A channel’s long videos get 200,000 views a month. At the starting rate of $2.30 per 1,000 views, the middle of the month is $460: a range of $368–$552, or $4,416–$6,624 over a year.
Pick education and science and the rate field fills with $10.22: the middle is $2,044, $1,635–$2,453 a month. Shorts at 2,000,000 views a month and $0.07 come to $140: $112–$168 a month. TikTok at 500,000 qualified views and $0.70 comes to $350: $280–$420 a month.
At the starting rates
| Case | Middle of the month | Monthly range | Yearly range |
|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube videos, 200,000 views at $2.30 | $460 | $368–$552 | $4,416–$6,624 |
| The same channel, education and science at $10.22 | $2,044 | $1,635–$2,453 | $19,622–$29,434 |
| YouTube Shorts, 2,000,000 views at $0.07 | $140 | $112–$168 | $1,344–$2,016 |
| TikTok, 500,000 qualified views at $0.70 | $350 | $280–$420 | $3,360–$5,040 |

It works from the numbers you enter and does not read your channel or your analytics.
Why creators use it
Plan on a payout range — not on a single number
A creator setting a monthly target sees what a given number of views may pay on each platform, at the rate their own analytics show.
A creator weighing long videos against Shorts compares the two at their own rates and sees how far apart the payouts can be for the same views.
A producer or a studio running a channel for a client sees what the client’s views may earn from the platform alone, before brand deals come into it.
None of it is a promise. Platforms set and change their payouts.
What a calculator can’t tell you is what to shoot next. In Spytrend’s Content AI you search your niche and see what is taking off there.

Know what to shoot next in your niche: the payout follows the views
This calculator estimates the platform payout only. At the same rate, the payout moves with the views, so the bigger question is what to shoot next in your niche.
Spytrend is an ad intelligence platform for Facebook and TikTok advertising: ads AI-classified into 33 business categories, with every advertiser assembled into a single card — all ads, pages, domains and countries in one place.
For creators, Spytrend also has Content AI: find videos, break them down and turn them into your own content. Describe what you’re looking for in words — we find it by meaning: we search by what happens in the video and what is said in it, not only by the caption. See which videos got many times more views than their creator usually gets and why they worked — hook, format, pacing — and open any video to see its hook, structure and a ready-to-shoot script.
Two jobs a payout estimate cannot do
- Knowing what to shoot next. Search your niche in your own words and see which videos got many times more views than their creator usually gets: the idea worked, not just the size of the channel.
- Seeing why a video worked. Open a video to see its hook, structure and a ready-to-shoot script, and build your next one around the format, in your own words.
Why search the niche, not one channel at a time
Your analytics show what your own videos did. Checking a niche channel by channel does not scale, so Content AI searches your niche for you and puts the videos that took off side by side.
