To get Facebook ad benchmarks, read the table: every niche with enough ads in the country is a row, with the median views of an ad, the share of video ads, the ads per advertiser and the sample behind the row. Pick another country to see its table.

The page opens on the United States. Pick another country (or all countries) and press Show benchmarks.

Every niche in one market, measured on real ads rather than on a survey.

## The numbers a typical ad in each niche runs on

You get what normal looks like before you spend: how many people a typical ad in each niche reaches, how much of the niche runs on video and how many ads advertisers there launch. It replaces the slow way, guessing from a handful of competitors you happen to know.

The table shows one country, or all of them: a row per niche, with All niches on top and the niches with the most views first.

What each column means:

- **Median views.** How many people in the EU the typical ad reached, from the reach Meta discloses for ads shown there. Only ads that disclose it count; a dash means too few of them.
- **Video share.** The share of the niche’s ads whose creative includes a video; the rest run images. Ads whose format we could not read are left out.
- **Ads per advertiser.** How many ads an advertiser in the niche launched recently, on average: the niche’s ads divided by its advertisers. A high number means advertisers there test many ads.
- **Sample size.** How many of those ads the row is measured on, and how many advertisers ran them. The bigger the sample, the steadier the numbers.

A niche with too few ads in a country gets no row rather than a misleading one. Green marks median views well above the median niche in the table, amber well below it.

## How to benchmark your Facebook ads: three steps

1. **Find your niche in the table**
The page opens on ready benchmarks for the United States: every niche with enough ads is a row, and All niches sits on top. Niches come from our AI classification.
2. **Pick a country**
Choose another country, or all countries, and press Show benchmarks; your first lookup is free, no sign-up.
3. **Compare against your niche**
Hold your reach, your mix of video and image ads and the number of ads you launch against your niche’s row. A big gap in either direction is worth a look.

Read a row as a whole rather than one number at a time: a high video share with many ads per advertiser says advertisers there make and test video at volume, a low video share says images still carry the niche.

Your first lookup is free, no sign-up. Leave your email for one more, then create a free Spytrend account: it opens the full ad library, and paid plans add fresh ads and every filter.

The table the page opens on is free to read.

## Set targets from the market, not from guesses — normal is a number you can look up

Every account review asks the same questions: is this reach low, should we be making more video, are we launching too few ads. Without a market number the answer is an opinion. A benchmark turns it into a comparison.

A media buyer opening a new country checks how much of each niche runs on video before briefing the first creatives.

A founder choosing a niche reads the sample sizes and ads per advertiser to see which niches are quiet and which are crowded.

Benchmarks stop at the numbers. The ads behind them, with their creatives, copy and run times, are one search away in Spytrend.

## The ads behind every number

This page measures every niche in one market.

Spytrend is an ad intelligence platform for Facebook and TikTok advertising: a full five-year archive of ads, AI-classified into 33 business categories, with every advertiser assembled into a single card — all ads, pages, domains and countries in one place. Every niche and country in the table is a filter there.

### Two jobs a benchmark cannot do on its own

- **Seeing what beats the median.** A number says what is typical. In Spytrend the same niche sorts by run time, so the ads that last longest come first.
- **Following one competitor.** A benchmark averages a market. An advertiser’s card shows one company’s ads, pages and countries in one place.

### What a niche opens in Spytrend

- **Every ad in the niche.** Filter the ad library by the same niche and country and read the ads themselves.
- **Formats and calls to action as filters.** Narrow to video ads, or to one button, and see who uses it.
- **Run time per ad.** Each ad carries its launch date and days running.

### From a benchmark to the ads behind it, in three steps

1. **Open the same niche in Spytrend.**
Filter the ad library by your niche and country.
2. **Sort by run time.**
The ads that have run longest come first.
3. **Read what they share.**
Hooks, formats and offers that repeat at the top are what the market answers.

### Why the ads, not only the numbers

A benchmark tells you where the middle is. The ads around it tell you what to do about it: what the long runs have in common and what the short ones lack.

## FAQ

- **Where do these ad benchmarks come from?**
From Facebook and Instagram ads in the Meta Ad Library that we have collected and sorted into 33 business categories with AI. Nothing comes from an advertiser’s own account or from a survey.
- **Is this ad benchmark tool free?**
Yes, to start. Your first lookup is free, no sign-up, and your email unlocks one more. After that, a free Spytrend account opens the full ad library; paid plans add fresh ads and every filter.
- **Why do you show the median, not the average?**
A few ads reach millions of people and would drag an average far from what a typical ad does. The median is the middle ad: half are above it, half below.
- **Why is my niche missing from the table?**
A niche gets a row only when it has enough ads in that country to make the numbers meaningful. Try all countries, or a bigger market. Gambling, dating and adult ads are left out of these benchmarks altogether.
- **What do the colours in the table mean?**
Only median views are coloured. Green marks views well above the median niche in the table, amber well below it; views close to the median stay plain. The colour is a comparison, not a verdict: a niche with modest reach is not always a bad one.
